"Attitude of Gratitude" Journal Prompts
It's the week of Thanksgiving!
Not only am I BEYOND excited to stuff my face with pie,
but I'm also excited to celebrate the many blessings in my life.
So here's my challenge for you this week:
Each night in your journal, write down what you are grateful for.
Easy, right?
But even though it's easy, sometimes we forget to take the time to be grateful.
Practicing gratitude helps our hearts and minds focus on the good in our lives.
And as the following scripture says, it keeps us focused on Jesus Christ.
Easy, right?
But even though it's easy, sometimes we forget to take the time to be grateful.
Practicing gratitude helps our hearts and minds focus on the good in our lives.
And as the following scripture says, it keeps us focused on Jesus Christ.
To help you express gratitude this week, here are a few prompts to get you started.
And there are so many ways you can use these:
You can write about one in your journal each night.
You could have your family share their answers during FHE tonight.
You could ask around the Thanksgiving dinner table what other's answers are.
You can add a sticky note to your backpack or in your locker to remind you.
And you know what's really cool?
The more that you focus on gratitude and the many blessings you have, the happier you will be.
So go practice that "Attitude of Gratitude"!!!!!

Helping with Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays...I mean, FOOD!! And tons of it!
Plus it's always a great to have a few days vacation just to hang out with family and friends.
But we know it can also be hard to know how to help!
Thanksgiving is sort of a mom-makes-all-the-food holiday
and she probably takes care of the planning and details.
And even though I like helping out,
I don't really want to learn how to cook the turkey :)
If you're like me, you might have the same dilemma.
But perhaps this year you could help with something besides the food....
like getting the table and decorations ready!
I've gathered just a few ideas of easy and simple ways to spruce up the holiday
and I'm sure you're mom would love having one less thing to worry about!
You could print off this cute banner from Shanty2Chic
or make your own with paper, fabric, paint, or whatever suits your fancy.
Who doesn't love gold spray paint?
Just spray some leaves and add names with a black paint marker!
Loving this idea from Elements of Style.
You can easily print off these cute Utensil Holders
that are free at Craftaholics Anonymous.
This is a fun idea for placemats found on Typhanie Peterson Design!
Have your family write things they are thankful for while waiting for the feast!
Leaves are always a festive idea for Thanksgiving
and at A Beautiful Mess you can find a free template for these cute leaves.
You could string them as a banner or hang them in the windows...so many possibilities!
If you have little brothers and sisters, or cousins, or whoever they may be...
you could print off some fun Thanksgiving Bingo cards from Crazy Little Projects.
These waffle cone cornucopia's could be a fun addition to each place setting
and a yummy treat that everyone can take home with them.
You can find easy instructions on how to make them at the Paper Turtle.
What other ways do you like helping at Thanksgiving?

Mormon Origami
Have you seen this book by Todd Huisken called Mormon Origami?
It gives step-by-step instructions on how to make church-inspried origami!
And if you check out this article at LDS Living, Todd shares 3 of the tutorials for FREE!
You can make the missionary shirt and tie, the Bountiful Temple, or the gold plates.
This would be a fun FHE to plan for your younger siblings or to make at Young Women's.
You could even send the fun missionary one to a brother/sister/cousin/friend/etc. that is currently in the mission field!! Possibilities are endlessly awesome.
