Hi there!
I'm Marci...the one whose head is filled with too many ideas and one of them happened to turn into Stand & Shine Magazine. I'm a fan of M&M's, dance parties, and being with people I love.
I've always wanted to make the world a better place, especially by empowering girls and women with the knowledge of how awesome they are! One day while reminiscing about my childhood and teenage years, I realized that my daughter is going to have a very different experience than I did. She will have to be strong and resilient to withstand the negative pressure and media that seems to constantly surround teen girls. It's everywhere! Television, internet, advertisement, and more. I want my daughter to confidently push those negative forces aside and see the infinite good that resides in her being and in many around her.

And then the idea of Stand & Shine Magazine was born. It is a source of positive messages and uplifting articles. A place where LDS teen girls can all come together and shine. Where they can find support, information, and inspiration all based on the gospel principles that they hold so dear.
I want girls everywhere to know that they are not alone. There is so much good in the world and so much good that you can do. You are strong. You are powerful. And that's what this whole magazine is all about: You.
Hello! I'm Kelsey - the introverted, opinionated, thinks-she-knows-it-all of the family. I spend my time exploring the outdoors, getting lost in books, and enjoying life with my husband and toddler.
As soon as I heard Marci's idea for this magazine, I felt ecstatic. This is exactly the sort of thing I would have loved as a teen! Being able to share my ideas and read about other young women would have been wonderful. Too often as a teen, I felt alone or like I didn't fit in. Now I know that as an introvert, I am more comfortable expressing myself in writing. That's one reason why I love the internet: I can find like-minded people from all over the world. I can read their ideas and add my own, all without feeling the anxiety that usually appears in large groups.
That is why I want to create an uplifting place online for young women. So many changes and decisions happen in your teen years. Unfortunately, many of the difficulties you are encountering now won't magically disappear when you become an adult. It's important that you have a solid foundation, centered on the fact that you are a daughter of God and that he will love you for always and no matter what. That is at the heart of Stand & Shine Magazine. We want every young woman to know who she is and be recognized for the amazing spirit she is.
I wanted to be a part of this magazine because I know that Young Women face so many struggles and challenges. Our LDS standards are often attacked and compromised by the world so I feel it's important for LDS girls and women to have as much positive support as possible. I just had my first baby (the most adorable girl you've ever seen) and I know that her teenage years will be much different from my own. She will need to be able to find support and encouragement to live her values and stand strong.
I'm hoping that through this magazine I can help my own daughter and girls everywhere know they are important and special, that Heavenly Father loves them, and that they can do amazing things in this world. I hope you'll join us here at Stand & Shine Magazine - even just spending a few minutes with us will "Brighten your day and keep Satan away!" (I just made that up!! Woohoo!)

What up? It's Maggie. I'm the youngest of this sister trio (which makes me the coolest but don't tell the others). I love to dance, paint all the things, and have a secret stash of Coke and candy in my kitchen that I don't like to share.I wanted to be a part of this magazine because I know that Young Women face so many struggles and challenges.
