Happy Elephant Day!!

So it's Elephant Appreciation Day and no, we did not make that up! :)
But what a FUN little holiday to celebrate a cute (though not fluffy) animal.
In honor of the creatures, we gathered together some fun Elephant DIY Crafts
that are pretty much guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

This is such a cute (and simple) bookmark!
Just trace the shape of an elephant onto some scrapbook paper
and use in your next reading material!

Would you believe it if I told you these elephant bookends
were made with elephants from the dollar store?!?!?! So cool right?
Check out the tutorial at Love Grows Wild and see just how EASY these are to make!

This adorable banner-of-sorts is super easy to make!
Just cut out the shape of an elephant and trace it onto different colors of scrapbook paper.
Then tape onto string or jute and hang!

Give Mom a Hand

On there is an article called "The Sabbath Was Made for Mom, Not Mom for the Sabbath" by Greg Trimble. I read it today and thought, YES! Mom's do SO much on Sundays but they are in need of a renewing Sabbath Day as well!

So I want you to think about Sunday's at your house. What is your mom doing? Usually she is helping everyone get ready and dressed for church. Then she gathers everything needed for lessons or the littles. She helps everyone sit quietly during sacrament meeting, sometimes taking out a loud or crying sibling (hopefully that's not you, haha). After church she is making meals, attending meetings, playing with kids, providing games or outings for the family, and so much more.

Does that sound like your mom?

Well I've got a challenge for you.
This Sunday (tomorrow) give your Mom a hand!

Maybe you could make dinner.
Maybe you could help siblings get ready.
Maybe you could do a quick pick up of the kitchen or family room.
Maybe you could entertain siblings while Mom takes a breather.

Whatever way you help, your Mom will be so grateful.
She needs a minute to rejuvenate, to feel spiritually uplifted, and you have the ability to help her!
Helping her Sabbath be a little meaningful with help Mom know what she means to you.

Grandparent's Day

Grandparents Day is tomorrow!
What an awesome day to celebrate people who have done so much for us!
Make the extra effort to call or visit them, let them know you love them!
Or if your grandparents have already passed on, take time to write down a favorite memory of them.

If you need ideas, check out last year's post.
